(Clarinda) -- Travis Able hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting the Clarinda A's to a 9-8 win over the St. Joseph Mustangs on Sunday night.
After a strikeout to start the inning, three straight A's took a free pass, setting the stage for Able's walk off hit.
The Mustangs scored five runs in the first inning, but Clarinda had the lead by the end of the third after four runs in the second and two in third.
St. Joe regained the lead with three runs in the fifth, but Clarinda tied it in the sixth.
Able led the A's with four hits while Eric Wagaman had two hits and two RBI. Alex Henwood added two hits and three RBI for Clarinda.
Matt Mullenbach struggled on the hill, but gave the A's five innings. Three A's relievers combined to throw four shutout innings, giving up just three hits and one walk while striking out four.
The A's will step out of league play to play Carroll on Monday.
