(Clarinda) -- A two-out, two-strike single from Kale Emshoff scored Danny Mitchell, and the Clarinda A's walked off victorious, 6-5, over the St. Joe Mustangs on Sunday evening.

The game ended a back-and-forth battle between the two MINK League teams, which started when the Mustangs scored one in the second and three in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

The A's fought back, scoring four runs in the fourth inning to tie the game and then taking the lead with another run in the fifth. St. Joe answered with a run in the sixth to even things at five, which led to the ninth inning heroics.

Victor Perez provided the big blow in the fourth, driving in three runs on his second double of the season. Jackson Crochet and Wyatt Ball also drove in one run each, and Crochet and Mitchell added two hits apiece.

Samuel Reed threw a scoreless inning to earn the win. Garrett Herrmann started the game, tossing four frames and allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two.

Jordan Mehl went 1 1/3 innings and allowed just one run while working around four walks and a hit. He also struck out two. Grant Kraemer went 2 2/3 innings, scattering three hits and striking out two of his own.

The A's (3-1, 2-0) have the day off Monday and will return to action with a trip to Chillicothe on Tuesday.
