(St. Joseph) -- St. Joseph scored the first four runs and went on to a 5-2 win over the Clarinda A's on Wednesday night.
The Mustangs put up two in the first, one in the second and another in the fourth on their way to an 11-hit attack. Clarinda didn't scratch until the fifth when they scored just once before adding another in the seventh.
The A's had five hits on the evening, led by an RBI hit from Danny Mitchell. Alec Paz and Drew Holtgrieve each scored one run apiece.
Cam Bednar threw six solid innings, scattering seven hits and allowing just two earned runs while striking out two and walking two.
The A's (4-2) will play one more at St. Joe Thursday night before returning home for three games between Saturday and Sunday.
