A's score 11 in first inning, romp Omaha Strike Zone

(Omaha) -- The Clarinda A's struck for 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 23-2 win over the Omaha Strike Zone on Thursday night.

The A's pounded out 13 hits and took 12 walks on the evening, led by a three-hit, three-RBI performance from Victor Perez, who doubled twice.

Danny Mitchell, Jacob Edwards, Wyatt Ball and Alec Paz all had two hits while Ball and Paz drove in four runs apiece.

Clay Collison threw two shutout innings, striking out five and scattering one hit and two walks to pick up the win in relief.

The A's (5-2) are back home for a doubleheader with Jefferson City later this evening with games scheduled for 6:00 and 8:30.
