Clarinda is hosting the NBC Central Regional Tournament which opened with two games Saturday, July 25. Winner of this tournament will advance to the NBC World Series in Wichita, KS which begins August 1. Omaha Diamond Spirit drew the bye in the five team double elimination event. In the opening game Saturday Omaha Strike Zone took the win over St. Joseph Mustangs 4-1. Clarinda A's came up with a 5-3 win over the Des Moines Merchants in the nighcap. Sunday's action saw the Mustangs from Missouri win over the Merchants 11-7 in loser's bracket action and Strike Zone winning 7-3 over Diamond Spirit. Des Moines is now eliminated. Monday's first game at 4:30 will feature St. Joe and Omaha Diamond Spirit, with Clarinda facing Strike Zone in the 7:30 game.
