Clarinda A's Baseball

On August 5, 2023, the Eberly Family was honored to be recognized by Ozzie Smith and the St. Louis Cardinals.  Pat Eberly and her 6 children joined Smith on the field prior to the game to be welcomed by the Cardinals organization.  Ozzie Smith played for the Clarinda A's, coached by the late Merl Eberly, in 1975 & 1976.  

The highlight of the evening was Pat throwing out the first pitch of the game, caught by Smith, as 38 of the Eberly family members looked on and cheered!  In addition, the Eberly family was able to catch up with several other notable A's alumni: Bud Black, manager of the Colorado Rockies, and Dr. Brian Mahaffey, Cardinals team physician.

The Eberlys would like to thank the St. Louis Cardinals, Ozzie Smith, and Debbie Denler for making the day so special for the entire family.
