Clarinda A's Baseball

This is just one of many photos from the end of the final game of the 1981 NBC World Series in Wichita, KS. The A's had made their first appearance at the tournament in 1973 and this was to be their only championship to date. Through the years the team has only missed the event five times and have consistently been in the 10 finishers. This year we plan on doing several features on the team who won the title with seven straight victories, the finals being an 11 inning game against the Liberal, Kansas BeeJays, a perennial favorite in Wichita. Ten individual awards were picked up by members of this team. Merl Eberly was the manager of the team that season, with Milan Shaw serving as his assistant.
