TEAM CONTINUES TO RECOVER FOLLOWING BUS FIRE

Things are progressing toward getting things back to a "normal" summer routine following the bus fire two weeks ago. During this period, storms producing large amounts of rain have forced some postponements of games and the team played a triple header Friday when the Ozark Generals were rained out of games on Thursday. Tonight's game with Chillicothe was postponed to be a double-header July 15.

Thanks to pitcher Steve Szkotak, we do have the game by game stats up and posted - will have the first three games that were missing up the first of the week now that a copy of the scorebook has been found. Steve is making his laptop available to the team till we can replace the new one that was lost in the fire - other more pressing needs are being met first.

Board president Gary Ulmer, along with board member Jay Moses, current and former bus drivers Charlie Hughes and Ray Petty went to Fairbault, MN and purchased a bus that should be here around the 21st. At present the team will continue to use a charter service for away games. There is a discussion on naming the new bus - in the past it has been "Blue Goose" I - IV, but there is some thought to calling it the "Phoenix" - give us your input.

We continue to get donations and words of support from the local community, surrounding area and alumnus. During the Glenn Miller Festival this past weekend a Japanese visitor also left a gift for the team and attended Saturday night's game with his local hosts and several others from Japan.

Thanks go out to all of you have already been so generous - the gifts that we have received so far are helping with the expenses of replacements - Manager Ryan Eberly stated that he didn't even realize some of the ordinary items that you don't even know you've lost till you go to use them, so the list continues to grow.

Will continue to keep you up-dated as we move forward.
