(Chillicothe) -- The Clarinda A's won for the third straight time on Tuesday evening, a 6-3 triumph over Chillicothe. Coupled with a loss by the Saint Joseph Mustangs, the A's are now a win or a Mustangs loss away from clinching the MINK League's Northern Division.

Quentin Mansfield pitched four sterling innings of relief to get the win, allowing just one hit and striking out five. Meanwhile, Clarinda battled back from an early 3-1 deficit, scoring two in the fifth to tie the game, two in the seventh to take the lead and a single run in the ninth to add insurance.

D'Marco Poindexter and Keith Cormier had three hits apiece in the win with Cormier crossing the plate three times and Poindexter scoring once. Dean Long had just one hit, but he made it count as he finished with three runs batted in.

The A's are back home on Wednesday evening as they try to clinch the division with a game against the Omaha Diamond Spirit.
