(Clarinda) -- The Clarinda A's clinched the MINK League's Northern Division championship on Wednesday evening with a 7-6 win over the Omaha Diamond Spirit.

The A's jumped out early to a 5-0 lead and led 7-1 after five innings before the Diamond Spirit scored two in the seventh and three in the eighth to pull within one. However, Clarinda's Jeff Harvill worked a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up the save and clinch the division.

Bobby LeWarne pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and struck out four to get the win.

Blake Trahan and Cory Raley had two hits apiece with the former driving in two runs and scoring once. Raley had a RBI and a run scored to his credit, as well. Dean Long, Bud Britt and Tommy Hager all had runs batted in for the A's.

Clarinda (29-15) will travel to St. Joseph to meet the Mustangs Thursday before another road contest against the Omaha Diamond Spirit on Friday night and then will host Sedalia to close the regular season Saturday.
