Clarinda A's Baseball

(Nevada) -- Tei Weatherford threw six strong innings as the Clarinda A's took Game 1 of the MINK League Championship Series, 6-2, in Nevada on Thursday evening.

The A's have now won eight in a row and host the Griffons for Game 2 of the 2-out-of-3 championship series on Friday at 7:00 looking for the league title.

Game 3, if needed, is Saturday evening at 7:00 in Clarinda.

Weatherford gave up seven hits and one earned run while not walking anyone and striking out four.

DMarko Poindexter and Bud Britt had two hits each to lead the A's offensively as seven of the nine starters had a hit. Britt and Keith Cormier drove in two runs each.
