(Wichita) -- The 79th annual NBC World Series is currently underway at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas.
The two-week event is comprised of two, one-week tournaments. The first week tournament, which began on July 26th, is a 16-team double elimination format. The top two teams from the first week will advance to the championship week tournament.
The championship week tournament features the league champions from 10 different leagues, including the MINK League, as well as the national champion and runner-up from 2012 and two at-large teams determined by NBC officials.
By winning the MINK League title, the Clarinda A's have automatically qualified for the championship week bracket. The A's are one of only two teams in the championship week bracket that do not yet know their opponent. The A's will play the runner-up from the first week tournament on Saturday, August 3rd with the time to be determined.
The top six teams remaining after the bracket play has been completed advance to a quarterfinal round on Thursday, August 8th, with the semifinals taking place on August 9th and the finals on August 10th.
