The Clarinda (Iowa) A’s won their 10th straight game on Saturday, handling the San Diego Force 8-1. In the past six games, they’ve allowed seven runs.
One reason — the A’s can stand to be around each other in August, which isn’t always a given in summer baseball.
“They seem to like each other this year,” manager Ryan Eberly said. “A lot of these kids haven’t won at their schools before and they’re enjoying the winning part of it and they’re excited to be here.”
Clarinda hasn’t lost since July 14, when it dropped the first game of a doubleheader to Ozark (Mo.) It won the MINK League’s North Division and defeated Nevada (Mo.) 2-1 to win the league playoff series. Being off since July 26 didn’t pose a problem on Saturday....
