(Wichita) -- The Clarinda A's season came to an end on Thursday evening at the hands of the Seattle Studs in a 4-3 12-inning classic.

The A's had many opportunities and even held a one-run lead three different times. The A's opened the scoring in the second on a Cory Raley RBI single, but the Studs came back with one in the fifth. Clarinda scored another in the sixth on a Raley double, but the Studs again tied the game in the bottom half of the inning.

The game stayed tied at two until the eighth inning when Keith Cormier blasted a go-ahead solo homerun. The lead was again short-lived as the Studs were able to tie the game again on a two-out RBI hit in the ninth to send the game to extra innings.

The A's wasted a bases loaded and one out opportunity in the 11th inning before the Studs won the game on another two-out hit in the bottom of the 12th inning.

Cormier and Raley each had three hits in the 14-hit attack for the A's who end their season 38-17 and in fourth place of the National Baseball Congress.
