(Clarinda) -- The Clarinda A's scored three in the first and two in the second on their way to a 6-1 victory over the Kansas City Monarchs on Saturday.
Chase Hamilton had a hit and drove in two runs, while Steve Pico Jr. had two hits. Dakota Woods, Connor Hall and Colin Butkiewicz drove in a run apiece in the win.
Hall and Ben Duerr each scored twice, with the latter providing a one of two extra base hits for the A's on the day - a triple.
Jodan Dreibelbis pitched five shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three, to pick up the win. Dylan Algra followed with three innings of one-run, four-hit ball while striking out three and walking one.
Shane Lantigua struck out the side in the ninth while working around a hit and two walks.
The A's (2-1) continue play later tonight at 7:00 in Sedalia against the Bombers.
