Clarinda A's Baseball

(Chillicothe) -- Andrew Anvos' two-run single in the bottom of the seventh lifted Chillicothe past the Clarinda A's 2-1 on Saturday evening.

The loss is the first of the season for the A's.

Matt Mullenbach pitched well for six innings, but ran into some trouble in the seventh. He went 6 2/3 innings, giving up just three hits and the earned run while striking out 10. Adam Poldberg couldn't shut the door in the seventh, giving up the winning hit with the bases loaded. He would eventually finish the game taking the loss.

Eric Wagaman was the only A's player with a multi-hit game and he drove in the run in the third inning.

The A's return home on Sunday with a non-league game against Omaha.
