(Clarinda) -- Nevada scored the first seven runs of the game and took a 9-5 win over the Clarinda A's on Tuesday night.

The A's offense didn't wake up until the fourth when they struck for two. They would add another in the fourth and then two more in the eighth, but it wasn't nearly enough to come back.

Alex Henwood and Parker Phillips each had two hits for the Clarinda offnese, who also got a two-run shot from Wells Davis for his third home run of the summer.

Kevin McCann lasted just 1 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on two hits and five walks. Luke LeBlanc, Adam Poldberg, Tyler Graham, Bryce Eberly and Dillon Millar finished things.

The A's dropped to 6-5 for the season and 4-5 in MINK League play. Both teams are back at it tonight when the A's host the Griffons at Clarinda Municipal Stadium. First pitch is slated for 7:00.
