Yes, baseball season is upon us – the “boys of summer” will begin arriving in Clarinda May 27th to be ready to open the A’s 64th season.

Ryan Eberly, who serves as General Manager for the team, is heading into his 16th year as field manager of the A’s.  Craig Hindman will be returning for his 10th year on the coaching staff, and the A’s Board is excited to have former A’s player Von Hayes on the staff for his first year.  After playing in Clarinda 1978-79, Hayes played Major League baseball from 1981- 1991 with the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, and California Angels.

A’s home schedule will have 24 games with 21 on the road. 42 of their games will be league contests. Their first league game will be at Jefferson City,  June 1 and first home league game vs Nevada, June 6.  League teams include: Chillicothe Mudcats, St. Joseph Mustangs, Jefferson City Renegades, Sedalia Bombers, Ozark Generals, Nevada Griffons and Joplin Outlaws.

Sponsors of free nights this year are Clarinda Chamber of Commerce, June 7; Hy-Vee, June 12; Subway, June 25 and Clarinda Academy/Clarinda Fire Department, July 3. Special events are Baseball Day, June 16; fireworks, July 3; Golf Tournament and Parent/Alumni picnic, July 4. Hy-Vee will again sponsor the Baseball Toss with two contestants to be chosen at every home date for the chance to win a $100 gift certificate from the store.

Season tickets will be available soon with a single pass $20.00 and family pass $30. Admission at the gate is $5.00 with grades K-12 free.

Clarinda A’s board president Jeff Clark, as well as management and coaching staff encourage you to get out in support of the team – they feel they have done a good job of recruiting this year and it should be an exciting season.  HOPE TO SEE YOU AT MUNICIPAL STADIUM/EBERLY FIELD!!!
